I've stayed home sick for the past two days, and I keep thinking - how can anyone feel like this AND take care of a baby? Hopefully, my body's getting it all out of my sytem now, and I won't be sick for another eighteen years.
If it is a sprained ankle, you can skooch around on your hands and knees or butt; if it is something mild, you can cuddle the little one and sleep together; if it is something miserable and contagious, you have to hope your spouse or mother can take over. Remember parents never get sick! Get well soon!
It's really hard- usually it involves a lot of sleep. Then you wake up and feel better. Honestly, a sick child is way worse than a sick parent!! Jeff and I caught everything the first 4-5 years, but it has definitely gotten easier as the kids have gotten older!! Someone once told me that the sickness is easier when they are older and it is completely true (a light at the end of the tunnel for a complete germiphobe!!) And handwashing and antibacterial gel makes ALL the difference in the world!
