Bah-Dum-Dum

Wake up whenever you want. Have your meals prepared by someone else. Never wash a dish or clean up after yourself. Everyone around you constantly tries to entertain you. That’s the life. If there’s such a thing as reincarnation, I want to come back as a baby.

  1. You had your chance! The whole "youth is wasted on the young" thing really hits home sometimes, huh?

  2. Yes, and it's really depressing sometimes. Amy G. sent me this bit from George Carlin that says basically what I did, but in a much funnier and insightful way:

I want to live my next life backwards:
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in a nursing home
    feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.
Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
    Then when you start work,
you get a gold watch on your first day.

    You work 40 years
until you're too young to work.
You get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and you're generally promiscuous.

Then you go to primary school,
    you become a kid,
    you play,
    and you have no responsibilities.
Then you become a baby, and then...

You spend your last 9 months
floating peacefully in luxury, in spa-like conditions
    - central heating, room service on tap,
    and then...
You finish off as an orgasm.

  3. Have you read Time's Arrow by Martin Amis? It's a bit more...umm...disturbing than Carlin, but it does the whole life-backwards thing. VERY interesting.

  4. I'll check it out! I think I like "disturbing". It's not like Benjamin Button, is it?
